Day Retreats

What are the Day retreats?

The next Day Retreat will be on the 1st September

The retreats  all have a variety of special moments formed with different inputs and include personal meditation, creative prayer exploration, small group work and whole community conversation.    We actively seek people from a broad variety of backgrounds and God always blesses us with the richness of gifts in the people attending.

We hope to be an authentic experience of the communion of the Holy Spirit.

What are the places that hold spiritual presence for you today?

You are warmly invited to our Spring Retreat to be held at Leura Uniting Church on Saturday 1 September from 10 – 3.30pm.
What are the places that hold spiritual presence for you today? What places shaped your spirituality in the past? How is your story connected to these places?
This retreat will draw on the work of two spiritual writers. The American poet and writer Kathleen Norris in Dakota, A spiritual Geography relates her return to her grandparents’ house in the sweeping plains of Dakota. She writes: ‘more than any other place I lived in as a child or young adult – Dakota is my spiritual geography, the place where I’ve wrestled my story out of the circumstance of landscape and inheritance.’
Margaret Silf is a writer and retreat leader living in Scotland. In Landscapes of Prayer she explores 9 different landscapes. She writes: ‘prayer can have its own sense of place – landscapes that we can inhabit and explore, and meet God as tangibly as we might meet a fellow traveller.’
This retreat will explore landscapes of the mountains, seashore, desert, garden and any that relate to your spirituality of place. Your retreat leaders are Bethany South and Carolyn Craig-Emilsen.
Morning tea provided. Please bring your own lunch or there are cafes nearby.
